Punk Rock Run Club

Back in 2015 I started to hashtag my Insta run pics with #punkrockrunclub It was the quiet signal of a runner that doesn’t do run clubs. It turned out however that much as I might be a lone runner, I wasn’t alone, the hashtag resonated. It became a much-requested t-shirt, which became a just-for-fun Strava group that now stands at over 800 members.

Oh the irony of becoming a run club of sorts for those that don’t do run clubs… If it has inspired one or two people to get back out on the trails though I’m there for it, but what if it can be more?

Running has been my savour through bouts of depression and anxiety a problem I have battled for 30 years. I know what’s it like to stare into the abyss, to think there is no hope of getting better, but running has helped, and helped a lot, so I have decided to partner with CALM (The Campaign Against Living Miserably) to create some merchandise with 100% of the profits from each product sold donated to CALM to help aid them in their mission against suicide.

Every week 125 people in the UK take their own lives. And 75% of all UK suicides are male. CALM exists to change this.

And now Punk Rock Run Club will help them. Mind. Music. Miles.
